Arsenal are reportedly eager to sign Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen after missing out on Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic.

Mikel Arteta has been keen to recruit a new attacker in this window with the club set to do away with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after being exiled by his coach.

With Vlahovic on the market, Arsenal were said to be willing to pay the hefty €75m (£62m) asking price for the ace, although he has now agreed terms to join Juventus.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal could make a £60million summer swoop for the Nigerian.

Osimhen has scored nine goals in 16 competitive matches for Napoli this campaign, adding to his 10-goal haul from the previous year.

His club splashed out a remarkable €80m (£66m) to sign him from Lille in 2020, and they look set to take a minor hit on that initial fee if they are to offload him.
